Conducting the Supplementary Examination for Medical Professions: Physician and Dentist

The supplementary examination is conducted in accordance with § 18a of Act No. 422/2015 Coll. on the recognition of education certificates and professional qualifications, as well as on amendments and supplements to certain laws, and Decree No. 30/2018 of the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic on the supplementary examination. These regulations define the procedure for the recognized educational institution, the applicant, and the examination committee in conducting the supplementary examination.

Application and Attachments for the Supplementary Examination
The applicant must complete and submit a written application (attachment: "Application for the Supplementary Examination for the Medical Profession: Physician or Dentist")
along with all required documents that are part of the application to the Dean's Office, Faculty of Medicine, Slovak Medical University, Limbová 12, 833 03 Bratislava.

If the application does not include all necessary attachments and the payment has not been made, it will be considered incomplete, and the applicant will not be scheduled for the supplementary examination on the given date.

The following attachments must be included with the completed application:
  1. A certified copy of the education certificate with a translation into the official language of the Slovak Republic,
  2. A certified copy of the decision on the recognition of education certificates and professional qualifications issued by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovak Republic,
  3. Proof of payment for the administrative fee related to the supplementary examination for a physician or dentist, in the amount of € 500,
  4. A certified copy of the protocol from a previously failed supplementary examination, which must have been taken no later than March 30, 2022.

General Practitioner: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Gynecology, and Obstetrics
Dentist: Internal Medicine, Surgery, Therapeutic Dentistry, Conservative Dentistry, Pediatric Dentistry, Periodontology and Oral Medicine, Orthodontic Dentistry, Prosthodontics, Jaw Orthopedics, Maxillofacial Surgery (including Dentoalveolar Surgery).
